The Roughriders
After going 3-0-1 against the Glendale Community College Gauchos to start the season, the Roughriders dropped three-of-four contests in the 2022 Zinger Bat Invitational Tournament last weekend, including narrow losses to No. 14-ranked College of Southern Nevada and No. 2-ranked Central Arizona College.
Yavapai's lone win in the tournament came against Salt Lake Community College in game one. The Roughriders tossed nine innings of shutout ball while allowing just three hits in the 3-0 victory and also received a clutch two-out homer that provided the game-winning run.
Player To Watch
Freshman utility man Ben Zeigler leads YC in innings pitched this year with 9.0 and has struck out ten while keeping his ERA at 2.00. At the plate, Zeigler is 2-for-7 with a pair of runs scored and three RBIs.
