Roughriders win 3-2 in Game 2 against Vaqueras

COOLIDGE, Ariz. (April 21, 2026)

The Yavapai College Softball team just completed their final 2 games against ACCAC rival Central Arizona, and Yavapai was able to walk away with a nail biter victory against the Vaqueras.

The Roughriders won Game 2 of the series 3-2, which included a 1-run Home Run by freshman Avree Rhodes! Rhodes had 2 RBI total in this game, as well as the only extra base hit for the Roughriders.

Danica Kern and Kayley Gibb each notched 2 hits in this match.

Daisy Smith pitched 2 innings in this game and had 2 strikeouts, while Sofi Wagner-Stiles had a K.

Yavapai lost the first game 1-7, which included 1 RBI from Gibb.

Yavapai Softball is 19-28 this season (8-16 in Conference Play) and is still very much in the playoff picture for the ACCAC.
