Yavapai Softball Extends Win Streak at Mesa

Yavapai Softball Sweeps Thunderbirds in Double-Header

MESA, Ariz. (April 18, 2026)

The Yavapai Softball team has extended their win streak to four wins this weekend, including two more from today's Double-Header sweep at Mesa CC.

Game 1

Yavapai won Game 1 of the series in a close 5-4 battle. 

Georgia Wagner-Stiles had another multi-hit game of the weekend, tallying 3 singles, while Avree Rhodes and Kayley Gibb each hit a Double for 2 RBI.

Gibb, Danica Kern, and Daisy Smith each had a stolen base.

Smith also was starting pitcher and had just one earned run in 4 innings pitched, while Ryder Wilmarth came in as relief and had 3 K's in 3 IP.

Game 2

The second game was a little easier for the Roughriders as they were able to win this game 8-5.

While Dani Kern had the single extra base hit of the game for the Roughriders (2B), Kern, Yeluanmy Alvarado, Lucia Jessen, and Georgia Wagner-Stiles all had 2 hits against the Thunderbirds. Kern was able to steal 2 bases as well.

Olivia Durazo was able to secure the win at pitcher, while Sofi Wagner-Stiles pitched for the final 5 frames and had 6 strikeouts on one earned run!

Sofia Romero had a great game on defense, as she was able to collect 3 putouts and record a Double Play!

Yavapai Softball is now sitting at 18-27, and will resume conference play on Tuesday the 21st.

UP NEXT

Yavapai will conclude their ACCAC conference play against Central Arizona on Tuesday, April 21st. The Double-Header will begin at 12 pm.
