Yavapai Softball Completes 2-Game Series at Phoenix College

SB goes 0-2 at the Bears

PHOENIX, Ariz. (February 19, 2026)

The Yavapai Softball team has just completed their two-game series at the Bears of Phoenix College, who were ranked as #11 in the DII NJCAA Preseason poll. The Riders would fall short in both games.

Game 1 was a 3-11 loss.

All three runs were batted in by second baseman Sofia Romero, where she was able to bat in runner Kayley Gibb twice.

Tamryn Tucker stole a base in this game, and had two fielding assists, along with Gibb.

Tucker and Mindy Ward each had a double play as well.

Game 2 was a string start, with the Roughriders going up 3-0 in the first couple innings. However, the Bears would take this game as well and would win 10-3.

The three runs were batted in by Danica Kern, Avree Rhodes, and Sofia Romero. Kern had a double in this game and a stolen base, along with Kayley Gibb and Georgia Wagner-Stiles.

Olivia Durazo had 2 strikeouts in 4 innings.

Mindy Ward had 8 putouts in this game, while Tamryn Tucker had 4 assists on the field.

Yavapai Softball is now 5-10 this season, and they begin conference play next week.

UP NEXT

Yavapai Softball is home for the first time this season! Next weekend, Yavapai will be hosting ACCAC rival Central Arizona for a 4-game, 2-day series at Bill Vallely Field. Those games will be on Friday, February 27th (12 & 2 PM) and Saturday, February 28th (11 AM & 1 PM).
