YUMA, Ariz. – The Yavapai College Softball Team has made the 2025 ACCAC Softball Playoffs!! After their 4-game series against Arizona Western to finish off their regular season, the Roughriders have clinched the 4-seed in the NJCAA Region 1 Playoffs, their first time in the playoffs since 2022, when Yavapai went 50-3 in the regular season. Yavapai went 1-3 against the Matadors, and will face off against Eastern Arizona next weekend!
Game 1
Yavapai won the first game of the series 11-3!
Tamryn Tucker had a home run in this game! She went 3 for 4 at the plate, hitting 2 singles and 1 home run, while batting in 2 and running in for 1.Â
Charley Pitrat had an impressive 4 RBI in just this game, with
Gracie Firth batting in 2 and
Brianna Baca 1. Baca, Pitrat,
Ivannya Perez and
Olivia Boswell all ran in for two, with Firth and
Kylie Sam each accounting for 1 run.
Breanne Petty pitched for 5 innings and allowed only 3 hits and 3 runs.
Tamryn Tucker had 8 putouts, and
Kylie Sam had 5.
Hayden McGuire had a quiet offensive day, but made up for it by providing 6 assists on the field!
Game 2
Although the first game of the day was high-scoring, that would change in Game 2. Yavapai fell 1-2 in the second game of the series.
The one run of the Roughriders came from
Emmersyn Villa, who batted in Yeluamny Alvarado. Interestingly enough, the Riders had 11 hits in this game with only one run to show for it!
Olivia Boswell had 3 singles in this game, and
Tamryn Tucker had a double. Alvarado and Boswell each stole a base as well.
Pitcher
Mackenzie Durr had a great game, pitching all 7 innings and accounting for 8 strikeouts! She allowed only 4 hits and 2 runs.
Natalie Ojeda had 8 putouts, and Tucker had 6.
Hayden McGuire had 3 assists, and double plays came from Tucker and Durr.
Game 3
Yavapai went on to lose the third game of the series 3-8.
The three runs came from
Brianna Baca,
Tamryn Tucker, and
Olivia Boswell, with one run batted in from
Emmersyn Villa.
Olivia Boswell had 3 steals in this game, and
Brianna Baca had 2!
Daisy Smith pitched against 19 batters and had 2 strikeouts!
Hayden McGuire had 7 putouts, and Boswell had 3. Baca and Tucker each had 2 fielding assists.
Game 4
The final game of the series had Yavapai lose 0-2, but they still were able to clinch the 4-seed in the playoffs!
Olivia Boswell,
Eniyah Dominguez,
Yeluanmy Alvarado, and
Kylie Sam each had one hit, and all of them would end up being singles. Sam had a stolen base as well.
Daisy Smith had 3 strikeouts in 3 innings!
Ivannya Perez and
Angelica Carrillo each had 3 putouts.
