Thatcher, AZ (May 10, 2025) – The Yavapai College Softball team fell 1-0 to the College of Southern Nevada this morning in the Arizona Community College Athletic Conference Playoffs.

Severe winds held both teams' bats in check for the entirety of the game.

Trailing 1-0 in the seventh, YC was able to get the tying run to third and the go-ahead run to second with two outs, but were unable to extend the game.

The loss ends the season for the Roughriders, who qualified for the playoffs for the first time since 2022. YC was the #4 seed in the tournament.

Mackenzie Durr was spectacular on the mound, giving up just the one run on four hits while striking out seven.

Hayden McGuire led the Roughriders offensively, going 2-for-3 with a double.

YC finished the season with a 22-23 record, 14-18 in ACCAC play.

Yesterday, the Roughriders got off to a massive start with a 5-0 upset of #1 seed Eastern Arizona. Later in the day, they would fall to the #3-seeded Arizona Western, before today's loss to #2 College of Southern Nevada.
