Earlier today, the ACCAC announced their 2025 Baseball awards! With the ACCAC Baseball seasons ending over the weekend, there were many close considerations as to who could make the player and teams lists, and luckily, many Yavapai Baseball players were recognized!

ACCAC - All-Conference First Team

Justin Cherrington, INF: Justin had an incredible Freshman Baseball season at Yavapai! Helping lead his team to the 4-seed in the playoffs, Cherrington's efforts proved to be a major success for the team, as he had an incredible 12 Home Run season (2nd Overall), complete with 62 runs (4th), 68 RBI (1st), and a .433 batting average on the season (3rd). However, even though his offensive efforts were historic, it was his time spent at First Base that allows him to stand out above the rest! 194 putouts and 19 double plays are hard numbers to reach, but they were not that much of a challenge for Cherrington! Justin Cherrington was awarded a spot on the ACCAC Fist Team All-Conference Team!

Matthew Peterson, INF: Matthew, along with Cherrington, had great offensive production during his Freshman Yavapai debut. Peterson was the only player in the ACCAC to have more home runs than Cherrington, coming in hot with 13 homers! He also had 46 RBI, 50 runs, and a .319 batting average. Matthew played both 2nd Base and Shortstop this season, so he was responsible for making double plays on the field. This season, he made 23 double plays, which is 7th most in the ACCAC! Matthew Peterson had a great offensive and defensive season, awarding him a spot on the ACCAC First Team next to Cherrington!

Kevin Ramos, DH: Kevin Ramos, Sophomore Shortstop/2nd Baseman for Yavapai, made a late surge in the closing games of the season, scoring 3 of his 7 total season home runs in the last week of the season (1 against Eastern Arizona, 2 against Cochise). Ramos also had 49 total runs, 39 runs batted in, and .396 batting average (Top 10 in ACCAC). His 13 double plays on the fielding side also earned him the only DH spot in the ACCAC's All-Conference First Team!

Liam Richards, OF: A monster in the outfield, the Sophomore Center Fielder used his speed and strength to bully his way into the ACCAC All-Conference First Team! Although only scoring 3 home runs on the season, Richards had accounted for 74 total hits (4th), with 6 of those being triples (6th). He also had 35 RBI, and an impressive .411 batting average (4th)! But what really made Liam stand out this season was his ability to steal bases. Richards had an insane 45 stolen bases on the season, the 2nd highest in the conference, and highest total out of all D1 ACCAC players this season!

Collin Adams, P: Collin's Sophomore season at Yavapai had him as a starting pitcher for 13 games, and he made sure to make those starts count! Adams pitched a total of 49 innings the entire season, and within those innings, he had 55 strikeouts, only 38 hits, only 19 runs (13 earned), and allowed just one home run the entire season! There were only 6 ACCAC First Team pitching spots available, and Adams certainly was great enough to earn a spot!

ACCAC - All-Conference Second Team

Caleb Horsey, OF: Caleb Horsey, the Left Fielder from Arkansas, had a fantastic Sophomore season for the Roughriders! Horsey had just 3 home runs, but he was able to account for 48 runs and 35 hits, as well as 19 runs batted in. Usually batting second behind Liam Richards, Horsey was put into a great position to also steal bases, and he had 13 steals on the season! His and Richards' effectiveness in the outfield made it possible for Yavapai to make it to the playoffs, so Caleb Horsey has been awarded a spot on the ACCAC All-Conference Second Team!

Brady Francisco, C: The Sophomore Catcher from Simi Valley made batters pay for their mistakes! Brady had 225 putouts from behind home plate, and 12 of those would come from runners trying to steal the base, but failed to do so on account of Francisco's keen vision and ability to detect any movement. At bat, Francisco had 4 total home runs, and although he only had 33 hits this season, 7 of them were doubles and 5 became triples! Brady had 32 RBI, 36 total runs, and a .280 batting average, great numbers for a player that has been awarded with a spot on the ACCAC Second Team!

Ty Thompson, P: When #10 stepped onto the mound, opponents would quake in their cleats. Freshman Ty Thompson had a great pitching season at Yavapai, starting 8 games and winning 6 of them! Thompson pitched 56.2 innings,  had 49 strikeouts, and allowed only 54 hits and 27 earned runs! Ty Thompson is one of two Yavapai pitchers to be handed a spot on the ACCAC Second-Team!

Traig Oughton, P: Traig made waves this season by not only having a No Hitter against Eastern Arizona early in the season, but the Sophomore Pitcher also had a Perfect Game against Community Christian! Those two games certainly helped his case to be nominated onto the ACCAC Second-Team, but it also didn't hurt that he had great stats! Out of the 49 innings pitched, Oughton had 47 strikeouts and allowed only 55 hits and 31 earned runs!
