PRESCOTT, Ariz. – With only 2 weeks left in the Softball season, the Yavapai Softball team has big games ahead, including the series on Monday and Tuesday against conference-rivals Central Arizona! Yavapai would end up going 2-2 against the Vaqueras, improving their overall record to 18-16!
Game 1
Yavapai would start off strong, winning the first game 8-5!
The runs were scored by
Gracie Firth (2) and
Brianna Baca (2), with one run coming from each of these players:
Olivia Boswell,
Hayden McGuire,
Eniyah Dominguez, and
Yeluanmy Alvarado. The runs were batted in by Boswell,
Kylie Sam,
Tamryn Tucker, and
Emmersyn Villa.Â
Boswell would steal 2 bases in this game, with Firth and McGuire each stealing one as well!
Kylie Sam and
Brianna Baca each had 5 putouts, while
Tamryn Tucker had 4. Pitcher
Breanne Petty and Outfielder
Yeluanmy Alvarado each had one assist.
Game 2
The Riders hit a rough patch in the road as they would fall in the second game, 4-5.
Eniyah Dominguez ran in for 2, and the other 2 runs came from
Olivia Boswell and
Yeluanmy Alvarado. The runs were batted in by Boswell,
Hayden McGuire,
Emmersyn Villa, and
Natalie Ojeda. Boswell would steal a base in this game as well.
Breanne Petty, starting at pitcher for the second game in a row, had 2 strikeouts!
McGuire, Boswell, and
Brianna Baca all had 5 putouts in this game, and Baca even had a double play.
Game 3
The first game of the second day, the Riders got off to a rough start, losing 17-3.
The three runs scored came from
Olivia Boswell,
Lily Booth, and
Kylie Sam. Those runs were batted in by
Tamryn Tucker and
Alexa Ramirez.Â
Eniyah Dominguez had 4 putouts at right field, and Boswell,
Emmersyn Villa, and Booth all had 2 putouts each.
Game 4
Yavapai would finish off the series with a win, winning 8-3, and splitting the series 2-2 against the visiting Vaqueras.
Brianna Baca and
Olivia Boswell would each run in for 2, while the rest of the runs came from
Kylie Sam,
Natalie Ojeda,
Emmersyn Villa, and
Lily Booth. Sam,
Gracie Firth, and
Tamryn Tucker all batted in 2 runs each, while Booth batted in one. Sam and Firth each had a triple in this game, while Booth and Boswell each stole a base!
Mackenzie Durr started at pitcher and had 4 strikeouts in 5 innings!
Kylie Sam,

Brianna Baca all had 4 putouts, and
Gracie Firth caught a runner stealing as catcher!

The Riders will play again this weekend on Friday and Saturday against Southern Nevada. Games 1 and 2 will be on Friday, April 25th at Noon and 2 PM. On Saturday, April 26th, Games 3 and 4 will be the "Sophomore Night" of the Yavapai Softball team, recognizing the Sophomores of this season! Those games will be at 11 AM and 1 PM!
