PRESCOTT, Ariz. (October 9. 2025)
This week, two Yavapai Soccer players have been awarded the ACCAC D1 Player of the Week awards for Week 6! Endreus "Zidanne" Soares of the Men's Soccer team won for the Men's Player of the Week, and Women's Soccer
Talon Bennett not only won Goalkeeper of the Week in the ACCAC, but Goalkeeper of the Week throughout the entirety of the NJCAA!
Talon Bennett
Talon had an excellent week last week, which led to her not only winning the ACCAC D1 Goalkeeper of the Week for Women's Soccer, but also the NJCAA Award for D1 Goalkeeper of the Week, an award handed out to one player in the entire country every week!
Last weekend, Yavapai WSOC faced off against ACCAC rival Arizona Western, who is currently listed at #2 in the entire country. Talon's efforts made it so the final score was only 0-1, with AWC taking the win on the road, but Bennett held down the fort, allowing just one goal and saving 14!
Although the Roughriders lost, they held on strong and would not let a nationally-ranked team bully them on their own field!
Congrats on the achievement, Talon!
Endreus Soares
Endreus is one of Yavapai Men's Soccer's premiere defensive player, and his earning of the ACCAC award has been long overdue!
MSOC also played Arizona Western last weekend, who is currently sitting at 7th in the country, and Western would also win on the road in a 3-2 battle. Without Soares' big leg booting the ball down the field, he made it is his mission to make scoring for the Matadors as tough as possible. Although 3 goals would be scored by the away team, Endreus held down hard enough to keep the scoring from going any higher.
Great work, Endreus!
