10/27/2025 1:23:00 PM

PRESCOTT, Ariz. (October 27, 2025)

The Yavapai Sporting Event "Equinox" has arrived, A.K.A. the busiest week for Yavapai Athletics of the year! Men's Soccer and Volleyball have clinched the 3 and 4-seeds in the playoffs, respectively. Men's and Women's Basketball begin their regular seasons on the road, both teams playing in 2 day Invitationals within the NJCAA Region 18 "Scenic West" conference!

Men's Soccer

Last week, Yavapai Men's Soccer defeated Eastern Arizona and clinched the 3-seed in the ACCAC D1 Playoffs! As the 3-seed, Yavapai will have to play the 2-seed in the conference, which happens to be the nationally-ranked #6 Arizona Western Matadors.

This game will take place on Tuesday, October 28th, at 7 PM in Yuma.

Volleyball

Although the Yavapai Volleyball team has had some ups and downs this season, they were still able to creep their way into the postseason! With a 3-9 conference record, Yavapai at the 4-seed will face off against the 1-seeded #10 Eastern Arizona Gila Monsters.

This match will take place in Thatcher on Monday, November 3rd. First serve is at 7 PM.

Men's Basketball

Winter has come, and so has the Yavapai Men's Basketball team! Coaches Kevon Davis and Jonathan Livengood aim to compete in not only the conference, but in the entire country, with the squad they have put together in the off-season. Former ACCAC Defensive Player of the Year Jason Parent is returning, as well as many familiar and new faces.

This weekend, Yavapai MBB will head up to Twin Falls, Idaho to compete in the Physicians Immediate Care Tournament, hosted by the College of Southern Idaho.

Their first game of the invitational is against the host of the tournament, #17-ranked College of Southern Idaho. That game is on Friday, October 31st, at 6 PM Arizona Time (7 PM MST).

The next day, November 1st, the Roughriders will face off against Colorado Northwestern. Tip off is at 2 PM Arizona Time (3 PM MST).

Both games will be broadcast on the Scenic West Network. More information about watching will come within the following days.

Women's Basketball

Yavapai Women's Basketball is returning this weekend, and new head coach Zach LeMay is hoping for some much-needed improvements!

This weekend, Yavapai is heading up to Ephraim, Utah to face off in the Snow College Classic.

Their first game of the season will be against the host of the classic, Snow College. The game tips off at 4:15 PM AZ Time (5:15 PM MST) on October 31st.

The next day, November 1st, the Roughriders will face off against Utah State University Eastern. That game will begin at 12:15 PM AZ Time (1:15 PM MST).
