Yavapai Softball Takes a Win in Yuma over Matadors

YC SB goes 1-3 against Arizona Western

YUMA, Ariz. (March 28, 2026)

The Yavapai Softball team just completed their 4-game ACCAC conference series at Arizona Western, and the Roughriders went 1-3 over the course of two days.

In the game that Yavapai did win, YC beat the Matadors 9-4. Daisy Smith pitched the complete 7-inning game, tallying 4 earned runs and 5 strikeouts. Yeluanmy Alvarado, Daisy Smith, and Tamryn Tucker all had 2 RBI's, while Kayley Gibb had 3 hits on the day, including a Double!

Throughout the series, Tamryn Tucker and Georgia Wagner-Stiles had 5 hits each. Besides the RBI's scored in the 9-4 win, other RBI's came from Avree Rhodes (2), Kayley Gibb (2), and Eniyah Dominguez. Rhodes and Alvarado each had a stolen base as well.

Daisy Smith had 6 total K's, while Ryder Wilmarth and Sofi Wagner-Stiles each had one strikeout. 

Mindy Ward, Sofia Romero, and Kayley Gibb each had a double play.

Yavapai Softball is now 13-20 on the season and are 7-9 in ACCAC conference games.

UP NEXT

Yavapai Softball will play tomorrow at home against Monroe University. The Double-Header will begin at 12:30 pm on Sunday, March 29th.
