The Yavapai Men's Basketball team is now officially in the ACCAC Playoff picture with tonight's home win over Central Arizona! The Roughriders won 69-64 against the Vaqueros.
After being down by 1 point headed into halftime, head coach
Kevon Davis drew up some great plays for his guys to execute, leading to the clutch win over the ACCAC rival.
Torin Bosch led the game in scoring, where his 19 points and efficient 8-13 shooting helped the Roughriders secure the W.
Although only scoring 9,
Timotey Zoonekynd had a dagger three-pointer in the closing minute that the visitors could not come back from.
Jason Parent ended the game with 10, while
Amari Lawrence had 11 and 3 three-pointers made.
Parent had 6 rebounds, and Lawrence had 3 assists.
The Roughrider defense held strong all throughout the game and caused Central Arizona to turn the ball over 12 times, with 4 of those TO's going right into the arms of Zoonekynd in the form of steals.
Rudolfs Svitins had 2 blocks off the bench as well.
The Roughriders are now 11-12 on the season and have 2 conference wins.Â
