DOUGLAS, Ariz. (January 24, 2026)

The Yavapai Men's Basketball team was hoping for a win in today's ACCAC match at Cochise, but would end up falling short by just 3 points in the close game in Douglas.

The Men's team was down by three in the final seconds, with another Alex Pierce miracle waiting to happen, but his short fell short and so did Yavapai.

Pierce would end up scoring 16 off the bench, the leader for Roughrider points, and he would also drain 4 of his 7 three-pointers. Torin Bosch had 15, and Kayne Gilmore had 14.

Rudolfs Svitins started in today's game and had a game-high for rebounds, grabbing 9. Jason Parent, while not scoring as many as he is accustomed to, still was able to make a difference in today's play-making by dishing out 6 assists (tied for game-high).

Yavapai fell short in today's ACCAC match 80-83 on the road at Cochise.

Yavapai will return home for their next three games, the next one of which will be next Wednesday, January 28th. Yavapai will face off in another conference battle against Eastern Arizona, and tip-off will be at 7:30 PM. Yavapai and Eastern AZ have met before this season, and EAC won by 2 points on their home court.
