Coach MacMillan's teams also excelled academically, surpassing a 3.0 GPA and earning ABCA Academic Excellence Award recognition during all four seasons. His fundraising and camp operations generated significant growth for the baseball program while emphasizing a positive relationship with the local community.
As Director of Operations and Assistant Coach at Ole Miss, MacMillan helped the Rebels reach five NCAA Regionals and win the SEC Western Division title in route to the NCAA College World Series in 2014. The team captured the 2018 SEC Tournament Championship, finished runner-up in the 2019 SEC Tournament, and won 16 consecutive games in 2020. During his tenure at Ole Miss, the Rebels won 48 games on two occasions, signed the nation's #1 recruiting class in 2017, and had 7 outfielders selected in the MLB Draft.
MacMillan was a four-year letterman at Ole Miss (1992-96) where he was a utility player under Head Coach Don Kessinger. He was a member of the 1995 NCAA Regional team that won 40 games before falling to Florida State in the Regional Championship, just shy of earning a berth in the College World Series.
He earned a degree in Business Administration from Ole Miss, and a Master of Science degree in Sport Administration from Canisius College in Buffalo, New York. Coach MacMillan is married to the former Andrea Adams of Memphis, Tennessee. They have two wonderful children, Tanner (8) and Ava (5).
