PRESCOTT, Ariz. – Earlier tonight, the Yavapai College Men's Basketball team faced off against RV Eastern Arizona. The Roughriders and the Gila Monsters fought hard, but the victors would be the away team, 73-86.
In the first half, the home team had a flurry of offensive plays, where
Jason Parent and
Nadir Myers each had multiple three-point scores, as well as shots from beyond from
Raphael Dupouy and
Amari Lawrence. The Roughriders had a hand in playing some good defense, with steals from Myers, Lawrence, and
Kyle Robinson Jr.
A Myers lob for Parent to slam dunk had the home team leading 40-37 at half.
The second half had more offense from Parent, Miller, Robinson, and Lawrence. Dupouy had a block and a steal this half as well.
Jason Parent had a late-game dunk off of a
Raphael Dupouy steal to bring the momentum back after a lull, but Yavapai could not complete the comeback.
Yavapai would fall to Eastern Arizona 73-86.
Jason Parent would finish the game with 26 points.
