PRICE, Utah (November 11, 2025)

The Yavapai Men's Basketball team just faced off against Utah State University Eastern on their Utah tour, and although Yavapai was close to erasing that was up to 13 at one point, Yavapai would fall on the road 87-90.

The Roughriders were up by 2 at halftime, and the Eagles got out to a hot start during the second half. At one instance, USUE led by 13 points, but Yavapai was able to claw their way back into contention in the final minutes. The hero of the NMMI game, Alex Pierce, hit two clutch 3 pointers to bring the deficit to 3, and after two free throw misses from the Eagles, the ball was back in Pierce's hands with 5 seconds left. Pierce was unable to get the third clutch basket, sending USU Eastern to their third win of their season.

While Pierce had the clutch baskets at the end to bring Yavapai back in the game, he ended the game with 13 points, playing 21 key minutes off the bench.

Jason Parent had a team-high 23 points, and Amari Lawrence had 15 off the bench.

Kayne Gilmore had big minutes in this game. The Aussie secured 5 rebounds, while Torin Bosch and Parent each had 3.

Parent had 5 dimes in this contest, and his 2 steals and 1 block proved to be the game changer down the stretch.

Yavapai is now 3-3 on the season, falling 87-90 in this match.
