PRESCOTT, Ariz. (October 25, 2025)
The Yavapai Volleyball team just completed their ACCAC regular season conference games, where they took on Central Arizona at home for the second day in a row. The Riders fought hard but could not overcome the Vaqueras, going 3-0.
The first set was a close back and forth battle, but the visitors would win 27-25.
Anouk van Kollenburg was the clear star of this match, tallying 4 kills, while
Destiny Matthews had 3, and
Micah Gardner and
Skylar Schwartz each had 2. Gardner had 2 service aces in a row, and
McKenzie Wright and
Mariah Leyva had one apiece.
The second set was not as close as the first one, with Yavapai scoring 16 to Central's 25. Gardner had 2 kills, while Schwartz, van Kollenburg, and
Aubrey Parris each had one. Leyva had another ace, and the defense would wake up in this set, with 2 blocks coming from Hédi Mayerhoffer.
In the third set, the Roughriders kept it close with the Vaqueras, but the visitors would once again win, this time 25-20. While Mayerhoffer had some great serves and van Kollenburg had some key blocks, the offense was where the 20 points came primarily from. Parris, Schwartz, Gardner, and Matthews all had 2 kills each!
Yavapai would fall 0-3 to Central Arizona.
