PRESCOTT, Ariz. (October 11, 2025)

The Yavapai Volleyball team just took on the South Mountain CC Volleyball team at home and would sweep them 3-0!

The first set, a Yavapai win, was the only set that did not go longer than expected, where South Mountain had 21 points. Scoring was high this game, especially from Eris Pimentel, who had a couple of kills by herself! Skylar Schwartz, Micah Gardner, McKenzie Wright, and Hédi Mayerhoffer each had a kill as well. Blocks from Pimentel and Mayerhoffer sealed the deal for the set.

Set 2 went a little long, as Yavapai would win 28-26. The offensive efforts of this set were ELECTRIC, as Mayerhoffer finished this set with 5 kills! In this set alone, Gardner had 4 and Pimentel had 3, while scoring plays were also made by Schwartz, Destiny Matthews, and a surprising trick play from Mariah Leyva! Mayerhoffer had 2 service aces in this match, and the second one was the game-winning point needed in order to win the match!

The final set also went over 25, as Yavapai would win 26-24. An early block from Mayerhoffer set the tone, with kills coming behind her from Morgane Breault and Destiny Matthews!

From this point until the playoffs, Yavapai Volleyball finishes their season at home! Their next game is on Wednesday, Oct. 15th at 7 PM, and they will play in a non-conference match-up vs. the Thunderbirds of Mesa!
