SURPRISE, Ariz. (October 1, 2025)

Last night, the Yavapai Volleyball team notched another win on their belt after traveling to Surprise to face off against and beat the Ottawa University Spirit!

Yavapai won 3-0, winning 25-17, 25-17, and 27-25.

Micah Gardner had 9 total kills across the 3 sets, while Valerie Sabalza had 8. 

McKenzie Wright and Maria Clara Gadelha Cruz both had 11 assists each, and Anouk van Kollenburg had 6.

Serving was all around excellent last night, with serving aces coming from Aubrey Parris, Hédi Mayerhoffer, Morgane Breault, Wright, and Sabalza.

Mayerhoffer had a defensive performance for the ages last night, recording 5 total blocks! Eris Pimentel had 4, and Gardner and Destiny Matthews had 3 each.

UP NEXT

Yavapai will return home to face off in another ACCAC conference match-up this weekend against the Coyotes of Southern Nevada! The first of two matches will be on Friday, October 3rd, serving first at 7 PM. Then, the second match will be at 1 PM on Saturday, October 4th, the next day!
