PRESCOTT, Ariz. –The Yavapai Men's Basketball team faced off today at home against conference rival Arizona Western. The home crowd was loud and the home team would go on to win 87-78.
In the first half, the home team had a flurry of offense and was able to stay in the game because of it. Various three-pointers were scored from
Raphael Dupouy and
Amari Lawrence off the bench.
Jason Parent had a buzzer-beater 3 as well. Clutch shots were made from
Kyle Robinson Jr., Parent,
Deyishon Miller, and
Martin De Laporterie. The score was 44-39 at halftime, Roughriders up with the lead.
The second half continued the offensive efforts. Lots of three-pointers continued to be made from Dupouy and Myers, with Miller getting shifty in the paint. De Laporterie had some clutch dunks and Robinson started to feel his confidence rising, so he took a couple of three-pointers as well. Miller and De Laporterie each had monster blocks.
Yavapai never let up their lead after the first half, and they dominated the second half. Roughriders would win 87-78.
