In this weekend's tournament for the Yavapai Men's Basketball team,
Kevon Davis' and
Jonathan Livengood's crew was able to start off the season with a record of 1-1 after participating in the College of Southern Idaho Invitational.
On Friday night, the team faced off against the hosts of the tournament, College of Southern Idaho, and lost 61-95. The big scorers of the game include 11 points from both #11
Kevin Rucker Jr. and #20
Martin De Laporterie, as well as 7 rebounds from #5
Nadir Myers.
The guys were able to rally the next afternoon and take control in the game versus division rival Community Christian College, where they handily took care of business, winning 98-58. De Laporterie led the scoring in the game, tallying 23 points on an efficient 11 of 13 shots taken. He also was able to grab 12 boards, with guard #1
Isaac Gonzalez having 8 assists.
The Men's team will travel to Levelland, Texas, for their next away game against South Plains College. This game will be at 5 pm on Monday, Nov. 4th.
