PRESCOTT, Ariz. – The Yavapai College men's basketball team hosted the No. 3-ranked Salt Lake Community College Bruins in its home opener on Friday night and fell 89-61 to drop to 6-5 on the season.

Sophomore guard Ray Glasgow collected the first points of the night, driving to the rim and getting the shot and the foul for a 3-0 YC lead.

Glasgow's three-point play was the only lead the Roughriders would hold on the night as the Bruins scored the next eight points and built a 37-21 lead going into halftime.

After the break, Salt Lake put the contest away with a quick 23-5 run in six minutes, putting the Bruins up 60-26 with 14 left to play. From there, SLCC cruised to the aforementioned 89-61 victory.

Down big late, YC did eventually find its footing from beyond the arc and wound up burying 12 three-pointers on the night with four coming off the fingertips of sophomore guard Carter John

Glasgow and John both led YC in scoring with 12 apiece on the night.
