TWIN FALLS, Idaho – The Yavapai College men's basketball team dismantled Community Christian College on Saturday afternoon with a final score of 109-64 to improve to 4-2 overall on the young season after a couple of three-game weekends in Twin Falls, Idaho.

"I'm very happy with our second-half effort today," Head Coach Kevon Davis said after the win. "We weren't selfish at all and that led to a great day from beyond the three-point line."

Saturday's victory was also the Roughriders' fourth victory against NJCAA Division I competition during the young 2023-24 season, surpassing last year's total of three in just six games.

As the final score indicates, the Roughriders dominated from the first whistle to the last buzzer on Saturday, outscoring Community Christian 53-35 in the first half and 56-29 in the second half.

As Coach Davis alluded to, the Roughriders knocked down 20 three-pointers and shot 42.6% from beyond the arc with nine different players hitting from downtown. After the 20 three-pointers on Saturday, the Roughriders now lead the country in the category with 71 in six games.

In addition to three-pointers, the Roughriders set team highs in field goals made (41), FG% (48.8), 3PT% (42.6), assists (20) and steals (19).

Freshman guard Isaac Gonzalez led the squad with five three-pointers while freshman forward Danilo Kojicic and sophomore guard Carter John each knocked down three.

Gonzalez also led the Roughriders in scoring with 25 while three other Roughriders hit double digits: sophomore guard Ray Glasgow had 23, the aforementioned John had 13 and freshman guard Kam O'Bannon finished with 11.

O'Bannon also grabbed 10 rebounds to tally the lone double-double for the Roughriders on Saturday afternoon.
