Zach LeMay

Zach LeMay enters his first season as Head Coach of the Yavapai College Women's Basketball program after over 10 years coaching high school, AAU, and NBA G-League affiliated camps.

LeMay recently completed a historic four-year run at North Valleys High School in Reno, Nevada, electrifying northern Nevada women's basketball with a remarkable program turnaround. In the span of a single season, he improved one of the lowest-ranked teams in the state of Nevada from 7 wins to 21.

From 2022 through 2025, LeMay coached North Valleys to three consecutive seasons with 20 or more wins, setting new school records for most wins in each successive year. He led his teams to a 29-1 league record, a 96% winning percentage, and earned three-straight league titles. His teams broke 30 plus program records during his tenure with the Panthers, including a 16-game win streak in 2024. Coach LeMay's techniques produced two 3A West Player of the Year winners, three All-State selections, eight 1st Team, and six 2nd Team selections.

LeMay earned five different Coach of the Year Awards in his final three seasons at North Valleys, including 3A West Coach of the Year and he was twice named 3A North Region Co-Coach of the Year. LeMay was also selected to coach in two Northern Nevada All-Star Showcase games with six of his players being selected to participate in the events.

LeMay played basketball at both Reno and McQueen High School, and collegiately at Olympic College and Edmonds College near Seattle, Washington. Zach's sister Lorie played basketball for the Roughriders during the 2001-02 and 2002-03 seasons, where she still holds the record for third-most most blocked shots in a single season.

Coach LeMay looks to bring stability, a winning mindset, and a strong family culture to the women's basketball program while helping each student athlete accomplish their goals on and off the court. When asked about his vision for the program, LeMay declared "We will be the best version of ourselves even in our worst moments.”
