Petar Draksin was selected in 2019 to assist the Yavapai College soccer program in a variety of ways, including with the recruiting process.  Currently he is the chief scout for the Las Vegas Lights of the United Soccer League.  However, he is best known as a fixture in the men’s soccer program at Grand Canyon University from 1986 through 2014, winning national and conference championships.  As the head coach, he won 225 matches including the 1996 NCAA Division II National Championship game.  In addition, he has coached numerous high school, club, semi-pro and professional programs.  In 2003, he coached the Arizona Sahuaros to the Men’s Premier Soccer League Championship.  In 1993, he led Apollo High School to the Class 5A Arizona Championship.  In addition, his Arizona youth clubs captured numerous state titles and three region crowns.  Originally from Yugoslavia (Serbia), he had stints with various indoor and outdoor professional teams in the United States.  He is a long-time member of the National Soccer Coaches Association of America, receiving a number of national awards for his contributions and service.
