Kevon Davis

Davis joined the Roughriders in May of 2023 and enters his third season of coaching at YC in 2025-26.

During his first season at the helm of the Roughriders in 2023-24, Davis led the Roughriders to an 11-20 overall record, improving upon 2022-23's 7-23 record, with a marquee win to open the season on the road against then-No. 10-ranked College of Southern Idaho. Davis also helped guide sophomore guard Ray Glasgow to First-Team All-Conference honors in 2023-24.  

In year two the Roughriders increased their Conference wins by two from the 23-24 season. 

Sophomore Nadir Myers achieved First Team All- Conference Honors and Redshirt-Freshman Jason Parent was awarded Conference Defensive Player of the year. YC had 7 graduates in the 25’ class including Sophomore Martin De Laporterie who signed with D1 Drexel University in the Costal Athletic Conference.  

Davis comes to the Roughriders from Seward County Community College in Liberal, Kansas, where he served as the assistant coach since September of 2022. While at Seward, Davis helped the team climb to No. 16 in the NJCAA rankings. 

Prior to his time at Seward County, Davis also had assistant coaching stops at University of Maryland Eastern Shore and Indian Hills Community College. While at Indian Hills, Davis helped guide the 2019-20 squad to Region and District Championships, a 30-3 record and the No. 2 seed in the NJCAA National Tournament, before the COVID-19 pandemic canceled the tournament. 

From September of 2016 to April of 2018, Davis was the Director of Player Development at NCAA Division I California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo. As the Director of Player Development, Davis monitored team academics, oversaw the strength, conditioning and nutrition programs, organized community service and assisted in team travel. 

In April of 2018, Davis was promoted to the assistant coach position at California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, a post that he held until April of 2019. 

From 2014-2016 Davis was an assistant coach at Casper College where the team went 47-18 in two seasons including an appearance in the Region 9 Championship Game in 2016

Prior to Casper, Davis spent four years as an assistant coach at Harcum College in addition to being the Project Manager for Academic Affairs. While at Harcum, Davis helped guide the Bears to a 100-29 record during his four years in addition to a Final Four appearance at the NJCAA National Tournament in Hutchinson, Kansas, in 2014. 

As a player, Davis played for two seasons at Harcum College, where he attained his associates degree in sports management, and played for two seasons at West Chester University of Pennsylvania, where he earned his bachelors degree in professional studies.
