Livengood joined the Roughriders in August of 2023 and enters his third season of coaching at YC in 2025-26.
During his first season at YC in 2023-24, Livengood helped guide the Roughriders to an 11-20 overall record, improving upon 2022-23's 7-23 record. In year two the Roughriders increased their conference win total by two games, while also excelling off the court academically under Livengood achieving a 3.06 Team GPA.
Livengood comes to Yavapai College from Independence Community College in Independence, Kansas, where he served as the assistant men's basketball coach for the Pirates during the 2022-23 season.Â
Before coaching the Pirates, Livengood was the assistant men's basketball coach at Mineral Area College in Park Hills, Missouri, from July of 2020 to July of 2022. While coaching the Cardinals, Livengood helped guide the squad to a 48-8 combined record during his two years in addition to an elite-eight finish at the NJCAA National Tournament.Â
While at Mineral Area, Livengood also coached three All-Americans (including Malevy Leons during the 2020-21 season in which he earned NJCAA Player of the Year honors) and eight All-Conference players.Â
Prior to his coaching career, Livengood graduated from Missouri State University in Springfield, Missouri, in May of 2020 with a bachelors degree in finance. While at Missouri State, Livengood was the student manager for the men's basketball program.Â
