2024 (Freshman): Saw action in seven games before an injury ended his season.

High School: Matthews graduated from Parish Episcopal School in May of 2023. While there, he earned First-Team All-District, All-State, Hitter of the Year and Gold Glove honors.  

Personal: Matthews was born in Spokane, Washington, on May 17, 2004. His hobbies include hunting, fishing, playing the guitar and hanging out with his friends. In the future, he would like to start his own business.
