The Yavapai Women's Basketball team has just won their first game of the season! It was a home match against the Skyhawks of Navajo Technical University, and Yavapai would win 79-58.

Kayla Bailey started hot this game and had some good scoring streaks throughout, and she would end the night with 12 points. Alexys DeCremer had 11, while both Kalli Smith and Grecia Leon finished with 10 each.

Bailey and Smith each recorded 4 steals, while Annika Hester created the play-making for the Roughriders, assisting 2 baskets.

Smith was the tallest player on the floor and the numbers reflect that. Her double-double led her to a 10 point and 10 rebound game, while Amani Arraf had 7 total boards.

Esther McCabe had a huge impact off the bench, scoring a very efficient 8 points on 4-4 shooting, while also recording a steal and an assist!

This was the first win for the Roughriders, which will boost their confidence for the upcoming conference away games within the next couple of weeks.

Yavapai won tonight over Navajo Tech 79 to 58.
