TUCSON, Ariz. (January 31, 2026)

Yavapai Baseball is back! They began their season 1-2 on the road against #21 Pima CC.

Game 1

The first game of the season for the Roughriders was a 12-2 loss against the Aztecs.

Ex-University of Hawaii Infielders Aukai Araujo-Waiau and Tarrell Reid each hit a triple in this game, while Reid batted one runner in. Carter Brown had the other RBI.

Reid, Araujo-Waiau, Lucas Tobin, Carson Sanchez, and Derek Kiepke all contributed to a Double Play in this game.

Justin Parkes pitched 3 K's in 4 innings.

Game 2

The next morning, Yavapai Baseball of 2026 won their first game! The Roughriders beat the Aztecs 4-3.

Isaiah Godina had the only XBH for the Riders in this match, setting up nicely for Dalton Irwin's 2 RBI's. Tobin and Revan Maduro's hits brought in the other 2 runners.

Austin Kalsek and Max Strickland pitched in this game. Kalsek pitched 3 K's in 6 frames, while Strickland had 2 in 1.

Game 3

The final game of the 3-game series was a Roughrider loss, as the Aztecs went on to win 7-2.

Carter Brown and Derek Kiepke each batted a runner in, and Irwin had the Double.

Kiepke stole one base in this game.

Despite the loss, the Infielders had a great fielding day. Double Plays came from Irwin (3), Tarrell Reid (2), Revan Maduro (2), and Aukai Araujo-Waiau.

Nathaniel Ramirez had 3 strikeouts in 2 1/3 innings.
