PRESCOTT, Ariz. (September 16, 2025)
Earlier Tuesday night, the Yavapai Women's Soccer team hosted conference rival Mohave Community College and gave them an absolute offensive clinic! Yavapai would win this match 5-1.
Out of the 5 Yavapai goals scored, 2 of them came from Sophomore
Sophia Fottrell, who had 2 goals late in the second half! Those goals were assisted by
Nataly Arangure and
Gracey Barbush, respectively.
Speaking of Barbush, she was able to head in a goal at the end of the first with an assist from
Mari Holladay, who ALSO had the first goal of the game. That first goal was assisted by Fottrell.
The fifth goal was scored by
Jill Young, who was able to sneak the ball past the goalkeeper due to a well-placed penalty kick from
Mia Howser.
Keira Campbell led the charge early in the game, taking 5 shots throughout the match, as well as another 4 shots coming from
Morgan McLane.
Talon Bennett was in the game for the majority of the time and allowed only one goal, but had an impressive 7 saves.

Sophia Fottrell said this about her team: "...super proud of how well we all worked together today, my two goals felt so rewarding because it really was a team effort that made them happen!"

Next Tuesday, Yavapai's next game will be a home game, hosting the Apaches of Cochise. The 4:30 PM kickoff will be on September 23rd.
