PRESCOTT, Ariz. (August 30, 2025)

The Yavapai College Men's Soccer team played their first official game of the season tonight vs. #4 Pima CC! The game took place at the Prescott High School soccer field, and Pima would win this game, 2-6.

The first half was a strong start for Yavapai, as Andres Pulido scored the first goal of the game off of a penalty kick! Goalkeeper Daniel Alexis Medina Gonzalez had a couple saves, and other shots on the goal came from Cesar Augusto Oliviera da Silva and Cauã dos Santos, but that could not prevent Pima from scoring 4 straight goals in the first half.

In the second half, shortly after the halftime whistle blew, Dante Espino-Kennedy scored an unassisted goal! From then on, Pima went on to score 2 more goals, but there were great defensive efforts put forth from Ricardo Juarez, Collin Tompkins, Blake Robinson, and Salman Shah. Pulido and Santos would try another couple shots, and the final score was 2-6.

Yavapai Men's Soccer does not have their next game until Tuesday, September 9th. They will make their way down to Yuma for their first conference game against Arizona Western! That game begins at 7 pm.
