PRESCOTT, Ariz. (November 7. 2025)
The Yavapai Men's Basketball team has been on a great run to start off the season, and their 73-69Â win tonight over the undefeated South Mountain Cougars is proof that they have what it takes to win!
Yavapai had all-around great scoring tonight. The heroes of the NMMI game,
Torin Bosch and
Alex Pierce, both had 15 tonight. Bosch was clutch in the closing minutes of the game, going 6-6 from the free throw line in the second half and 8-8 for the game!
Timotey Zoonekynd got hot in the second half, ripping off two three-pointers and finishing the contest with 12.
Amari Lawrence also had 12 in this game, and
Rudolfs Svitins had 11.Â
The Roughrider defense in the second half proved to be a key factor in the win tonight, where suffocating defensive plays came from Pierce and Zoonekynd, and
Raijon Dispensa and Svitins helped keep the Cougars from getting too close to the basket. Pierce even had a Lebron-style chase-down two-handed block in the second half!
Yavapai won tonight's game 73-69 over South Mountain, now 3-1 on the season and 2-0 at home.
