PRESCOTT, Ariz. – The Yavapai College Athletics Department has announced the resignation of Christopher Houser as the Head Coach of the Yavapai College Men's Soccer team.
Coach Houser, who was the third Head Coach in Yavapai College Men's Soccer team history, was hired in March of 2022, and has coached the Men's team for three seasons. In his most recent season, Houser led his team to a 6-6-2 record, and managed to make it to the conference championship game, where the Roughriders fell 0-1 to the Arizona Western Matadors.
Chris Houser's overall Yavapai record will stand at 23-16-3.
Before coaching at Yavapai, Houser was a collegiate soccer player at Southern Connecticut State University, where he led his team to a Final Four appearance and won the tournament MVP in 1995. Houser was also a member of the United States Men's National Team from 1994-97, where he would be chosen as a team captain and would take home the Bronze Medal in the World University Games in 1997. After playing professionally for five years, Houser would retire, and was inducted into the South Dakota Soccer Hall of Fame in 2007.
The Yavapai College Men's Soccer team is currently searching for a new head coach. Thank you for everything, coach.
