CHANDLER, Ariz. – The Yavapai College men's soccer team pushed its winning streak to three on Tuesday night on the road against the Chandler-Gilbert Community College Coyotes with a 3-0 victory.

YC has now won three in a row and is 5-2 overall and 4-1 in conference play.

"We dominated the game from the beginning white to the final whistle," Head Coach Chris Houser said after the win. "We are getting great performances from everybody on the squad and I'm looking forward to seeing these guys continue to put more pressure on teams."

12 minutes into the contest, freshman midfielder Anthony Khananisho saw a scramble in front of the net, jumped into the play and shot the ball to the right of the Coyote goalkeeper to give the Roughriders a 1-0 lead while tallying his second score of the season.

About 15 minutes later, Khananisho was at it again, this time as a distributor. He corralled a loose ball on the Coyote side of the field and placed a perfect pass 30 yards up the field to freshman forward Luis Medina

From there, Medina gained control of the ball, sidestepped his defender and launched a vicious shot to the short side of the Coyote keeper, beating him to the top-left of the net and giving the Roughriders a 2-0 lead with Medina's highlight reel goal being his second of the season.

The Roughriders went into the half with a 2-0 lead and saved their final goal until the last minute of the game.

Sophomore goalkeeper Rushon Sandy boomed a goal kick well into Coyote territory and saw freshman forward Jorge Quintero head the ball to Medina.

Medina, seeing Quintero turn upfield, touched on a perfect pass to the front of the net where Quintero beat the Coyote goalkeeper and placed his team-leading sixth goal of the season into the open net.

Sandy tallied a scoreless second half in goal while fellow sophomore goalkeeper Bishop Rhoads tallied a scoreless first half to split the shutout.
