Yavapai Basketball Finishes Regular Season With Three-Game Homestand

PRESCOTT, Ariz. – The home stretch is here for the Yavapai College basketball teams in their first year of reinstatement at YC as both squads are set to finish their regular seasons with a trio of home games that start this week.

The Games
Roughrider basketball begins this week on Wednesday, February 22, when the Roughriders will host the Arizona Western College Matadors with the men's game starting at 5:30 p.m. and women's game starting at 7:30 p.m.

After a couple of off days, the Roughriders then host the Glendale Community College Gauchos on Saturday, February 25, with the men tipping off at 2 p.m. followed by the women at 4 p.m.

The following week, the squads host the Phoenix College Bears in their regular season finales on Tuesday, February 28, with the men's game starting at 5:30 p.m. followed by the women's game at 7:30 p.m.

The Women
Last week, the Roughrider women fell to No. 8-ranked Mesa on the road before dominating South Mountain on the road to move to 9-16 overall this season and 6-13 in conference play. 

Arizona Western comes into its matchup with YC at 18-8 overall and 11-8 within the conference while Glendale is 5-21 overall and 3-16 in conference play. The Phoenix women currently sit at 4-21 overall and 2-17 in ACCAC games. 

The Men
Last week, the Roughrider men dropped road contests to Mesa and South Mountain to fall to 7-20 overall and 4-15 in conference play. 

The AWC men come into their matchup with YC at 21-6 overall and 14-5 in conference games while Glendale is 11-15 overall and 6-13 in the conference. The Phoenix men are currently 11-16 with a 6-13 mark in conference play.
