The Roughrider softball team dropped an ACCAC doubleheader to NJCAA Division II #1 ranked team Phoenix College, 11-3 and 9-8. Yavapai falls to 17-5 on the year and 12-2 in conference play.

In the opener, YC fell behind early and couldn't catch up. Offensively,
Jocelyn Ulrich,
Cheyenne Sandoval and
Miki Berg each had multiple hits. Berg and
Mia Weckel each hit home runs.

In the second game, the lead went back and forth.
Mikaela Payne hit the go ahead home run late in the game, however, Phoenix scored two runs in the top of the seventh inning to take the lead for good.
Cheyenne Sandoval also hit the long ball for the Roughriders.

YC continues ACCAC play on Saturday, April 10
th hosting Eastern Arizona College. The twinbill begins at 11:00 AM.

Admission will be limited to the first 50 fans. The gates will be opened at 10:30 AM. Admission fees are: $7 for adults, $5 for students, veterans, senior citizens, children 6 and under are free. Yavapai College students, staff and faculty are free with ID.
