The Roughrider softball team hit 9 home runs on the day dominating the Eastern Arizona College Gila Monsters Saturday at Bill Valley Field. YC swept the doubleheader from Eastern AZ 8-0 and 10-2. Yavapai's overall record improves to 19-5 overall and 14-2 in conference play.

In the opener,
Emily Dix threw a two-hitter and struck out 6 batter to earn her 7
th victory of the year.

Offensively, Yavapai only had 9 hits but 7 were for extra bases.
Jocelyn Ulrich,
Cheyenne Sandoval and
Alyssa Carpio each had two hits. All three hit homeruns with Sandoval leaving the yard twice. Ulrich also had a triple.

In the nightcap, the Roughriders came from behind for the lopsided victory. Eastern Arizona scored a lone run in the top of the first inning but YC responded with three runs in their half of the inning. Yavapai posted three more in the fourth inning and four in the bottom of the fifth.

Miki Berg each homered.

Kamryn Kamakaiwi went the distance in the circle scattering 3 hits while striking out 7.

th in the NJCAA in dingers.
