The Roughrider softball team swept a conference doubleheader Saturday afternoon over Paradise Valley Community College, 11-1 and 8-1. YC improves to 11-2 on the year and 4-0 in ACCAC action.

In the first game, starting pitcher
Emily Dix dominated the Pumas allowing only 1 hit while striking out 8 batters.

From the dish, Yavapai pounded 13 hits led by Megan Parsely and
Esperanza Rodriguez were each 3 for 3.
Miki Berg,
Mikaela Payne and
Kayla Rodgers each had two hits.
Jocelyn Ulrich was 1 for 2 with a home run, her 6th of the season.

In the nightcap, the Roughriders scored 6 runs in the top of the sixth inning to secure the victory. YC led 2-1 prior the sixth inning. In relief,
Kamryn Kamakaiwi got the victory throwing 1.2 innings.

Cheyenne Sandoval each had two hits. Sandoval had 3 runs batted in.

The Roughriders continue conference play on Tuesday entertaining Chandler-Gilbert Community College. The doubleheader will begin at 12:00 PM.
