The Roughrider baseball team opened the 2021 season with a doubleheader sweep over Christian Community College, CA, 11-2 and 11-1. Including last season, the Roughrider have won 17 of their last 19 games. The 2020 season was cut short due to the COVID pandemic.
In the opener, three Roughrider pitchers combined for the two-hitter with the games starter, 
Taisei Yahiro getting the victory allowing 1 hit while striking out 3. 
Noah Turley pitched 2 innings striking out 2 and 
Nick Agacki threw one inning giving up one hit and striking out 1. The Roughrider offense knocked 11 hits led by 
Lance Kelly going 2 for 3 with 2 runs scored. 
Amari Bartee was 1 for 1 with two runs scored and 1 run batted in. 
Jackson Romero was 1 for 1. YC broke the game open in the fourth inning scoring 5 runs and added three more in the fifth inning to put the game out of reach.

n the nightcap, the Roughrider bats remained hot scoring 13 hits five for extra bases including three home runs. 
Daniel Martin was 3 for 4 to lead the way.

Ethan Snodgrass was 2 for 2. Snodgrass knocked his first home run of the year driving in three runs. 
Noah Turley and 
CJ Valdez each hit a home run.
YC used six pitchers with starter 
Daniel Sotelo getting the victory on two innings pitched and four strike outs. The Roughrider hurlers struck out 12 batters.
The Roughrider return to the diamond on Tuesday, February 9th hosting Salt Lake Community College. The doubleheader will begin at noon at a site yet to be determined.
