The NJCAA has announced the 2019-20 NJCAA Academic Teams of the Year and the 2019-20 Student-athlete Academic Awards.  All four Yavapai College Athletic Teams were honored as an Honorable Mention Academic Team of the Year. 
 
The Roughrider volleyball team concluded the year with a 3.74 Grade Point Average, the third highest in the NJCAA and highest in the NJCAA Region I.
 
The soccer team finished the academic year with a 3.39 GPA, the highest among the Region I soccer teams.
 
Softball (3.19) and  Baseball (3.23) were each honored for their academic performances.
 
Additionally, twenty-four Yavapai College Student-Athletes were named the NJCAA All-Academic honorees. Volleyball and Soccer led the way with 8 student-athletes each garnering the award.
