The #15 ranked Roughrider softball team swept their third consecutive doubleheader over previously unbeaten in conference action, Glendale Community College Tuesday afternoon in Glendale, 15-2 and 8-0. Yavapai improves their overall record to 15-6 and their conference mark to 9-2. Glendale falls to 11-3 on the year and 6-2 in league play.

Alexis Garayzar led the Roughrider charge offensively in the opening game going 4 for 5 with three runs batted in. YC scored crooked numbers in three of the six innings played. Yavapai crossed the plate for two runs in the third inning, six runs in the fourth inning and seven runs in the sixth. Glendale scored lone runs in the first and fifth innings.

Mikayla Marquez was 3 for 4 with 2 RBI's and
Megan Parsley was 2 for 4 with 2 ribbies.
Kamryn Kamakaiwi was 1 for 3 with a home run.

Jackie Traughber was the victor in the circle tossing 5 innings of two-hit ball while striking out five.

In the second game,
Kamryn Kamakaiwi got the shutout victory scattering two hits. YC scored three runs in the third inning to provide the only runs the Riders needed, however, the offense runs in the fourth inning and 2 runs in the fifth inning and 2 runs in the seventh inning.

Alexis Garayzar was 2 for 3, And
Kamryn Kamakaiwi was 2 for 4. Alexus "Bama" Garza was 1 for 4 with a home run and three RBI's.

Doug Eastman commented on the Rider play, "The Lady Roughriders played the best of the year today".

Yavapai travels to Coolidge on Saturday to tangle with fellow Division I foe Central Arizona College Vaqueros. The doubleheader will begin at 1:00 PM.

* Alexus "Bama" Garza was named the ACCAC Player of the Week for her efforts on the field last week. The Albuquerque native hit .500 (5-10) with three home runs and eight RBIs. She scored seven times, had three walks and stole a base.
