In their 4th match of the Dalton Overstreet Invitation the Yavapai College Roughriders went up against the undefeated Broncos of New Mexico Military Institute. The Roughriders played well but were outgunned by the potent offense of NMMI. The final scores were 18-25, 23-25, 21-25.

In their 5th and final match of the tournament Yavapai collected their 2nd 3-0 sweep of the weekend beating the Thunderbirds of new Mexico JC (25-20, 25-20, 25-21). Sophomore middle blocker Lacie Ternney hit an outstanding .556 while collecting n10 kills and 3 block assists. Freshman outside hitter Kennedy wright the the Roughriders with 13 kills while hitting .263. Freshman libero heather Wanninger and sophomore setter Pilar Daugherty were tops on the team in digs with 21 and 13 respectively. Daugherty distributed the ball to the hitters effectively collecting 29 assists and helping the team hit .216.

Yavapai will host their first official home match of the season on Wednesday (7:00 pm) as they take on Ottawa University.The Roughriders will look to improve upon their strong 7-2 start and then start to focus on the upcoming ACCAC schedule.
