On Friday evening the Yavapai Volleyball squad took a break from ACCAC action to play Park University for Homecoming. The final scores were 25-14, 25-17, 25-15. The win improves Yavapai's overall record to 17-2. (ACCAC record remains 8-0)
The Roughriders were balanced offensively and defensively throughout the match. The team's hitting percentage was .303 with 37 kills, only 10 errors, on 89 attempts. At the net Yavapai produced 23 block assists and 1 solo block which added up to 12.5 total blocks. Freshman
Kennedy Wright was tops offensively with 27 kills (.593) Wright also contributed 5 block assists and had the team's only solo block of the night. Sophomore
Lacie Tenney gathered the most block assist 6. Freshman
Heather Wanninger had a team high 9 digs. Sophomore
Pilar Daugherty contributed 26 assists, 8 digs, 3 kills (.375), and 1 service ace.
Next up for the Roughriders is the Fighting Artichokes from Scottsdale CC on October 23rd at 7:00 pm. Both teams are the two remaining unbeaten teams in ACCACÂ play and will square off in Scottsdale on Wednesday.
